Polymer concrete (PC), a thermosetting material, is used when long
term wearability is needed. Utilized in our "PC" and "FC" product series,
polymer concrete combines polyester cross linked resin and aggregate fillers
to provide years of wear-and-tear service to high pedestrian and vehicular
traffic areas. When combined with secondary reinforcing materials, such as
fiberglass and utilized in engineered geometric shapes, polymer concrete has
significant load carrying abilities. This material can take constant exposure
to weather and sun and still remain a secure and aesthetically pleasing
enclosure. Offering five times the strength of concrete, polymer concrete is
the right choice for high-load environments.

|
|
As the size of the enclosure increases, so does its overall weight and
installation cost. A solution is a lightweight but high-strength material
such as FRP (fiber reinforced polymer) a thermosetting polyester material.
FRP products are produced using the "spray-up" process which allows us
to achieve very high percentages of fiberglass resulting in a significant
improvement in product reliability and durability, while providing for easy
handling at the job site.

No matter what your enclosure or foundation need, we have a product to
suit your installation environment and budget. The following application areas
are defined for your use to better identify the right product for
your particular field situation.
|
|
|
Golf courses, parks, greenbelts and other areas protected from all vehicle
ingress by such means as distance, foliage, fencing or structures. Products
suited for this area include all HDPE and ABS molded products, as well as low-end
designs of FRP/PC products having 300 Ibs./sq.ft. load capacity.
|
|
|
Areas that are seperated from intentional vehicular access through the use of
curbing or berms but in an area that could be susceptible to incidental traffic.
Products suited for this environment are PC, CM and PC/FRP designs
10,000 Ibs./sq.-ft. load rating (H5 or A8 ratings). Areas where vehicular traffic
is likely but where travel speeds are reduced and vehicle volume is light. These
areas could include driveways or parking lots where overweight loads are restricted.
Products suited for this application include PC and PC/FRP designs with load ratings
of 22,800 Ibs./sq.ft. Products of PC and PC/FRP construction with steel covers are
also suited for high truck traffic parking (H10 or A16 ratings).
|
|
|
Areas withing the intended traveled way where high volume or higher speeds are
obtained by vehicular traffic. Products for this application are served with PC/FRP
construction reinforced throughout and topped with cast iron rings and covers to survive
this high-impact environment (H20 ratings only).
